The conception of the transcendent in the workings of Shihab al-Din Yahya Suhrawardi

This work deals with the transcendent in the cosmogonal conception of persian mystic and philosopher Shihab al-Din al-Suhrawardi. In short it discusses his life, works and historicla-cultural context of the arab world in the 12th century. More broadly it deals with the genesis in the philosophy of illumination, the school of ideas of al-Suhrawardi. It analyses the hierarchy of creation from the transcendent creator through the celestial spheres and angelic beings down to the elemental world of matter. It clarifies that the whole process is a continuum and that the Light of lights has even despite his transcendency a direct relationship with everything it creates. Further it contains a few rules given by al-Suhrawardi as a guide to the successful life. At the end of the work is a short treatise about the history of the philosophy of illumination in between the death of al-Suhrawardi and present days.

Czechoslovak Occultism and its Representatives during the First Republic

The bachelor's thesis Czechoslovakia Occultism and its Important Representatives during the First Republic copes the theme of modern occultism in context of western esoteric traditions and formation the modern society. It focuses on the methodological issues of new religion movements and secularization, and on the comprehensive typology of occultism. By processing the thesis a special emphasis was given on deeper culture and historical roots, which were the basics of the Czech modern occultism. Firstly there is the evolution and dynamics of individual occult movements in Czech country and subsequently its most important representatives are mentioned. The main concentration is on the directions, which achieved eminent organized forms during the First Republic such as the spiritism, the hermeticism or the mysticism. However other significant directions are also mentioned in the thesis for example the theosophy. Anthroposophy in Christian Coordinates Esoteric Christianity of Rudolf Steiner

The thesis tackles the issue of Rudolf Steiner's anthroposophic thought system in the context of Christianity and Christian theology. It is divided into four chapters and contains a dedicated methodological concept. The first chapter focuses on the beginning of Steiner's life journey, paying special attention to his spiritual influences affecting him prior to his public appearance. The following subchapter tackles the genre structure of Steiner's collective works (as in Gesamtausgabe) and creates an original proposal of its periodization as well as a description of its presence on the Czech li- terary market. Chapter two looks at those elements of Steiner's thinking that are theologically important and relate especially to the Trinitology. The final chapter selects those ideas from Steiner's ideological system that are in conflict with classic theological way of thinking and aims to provide them with a wider context.

Emanuel Hauner's conversion and reconversion at the fin de siècle

The goal of the final thesis Emanuel Hauner's conversion and reconversion at the fin de siècle is to introduce and to interpret Emanuel Hauner's major poetic works, which have been so far neglected by the Czech literary history. My goal was to analyze the reasons of refusal of his works by both readers and critics. To make this analysis precise, it was necessary to take a close look at two phenomena appearing in Hauner's work: stylization and epigonism. The second major goal of this thesis was to answer the question of how Hauner's relation to occultism and Catholicism influenced his works. I was looking for other European authors that, similarly to Hauner, converted to Catholicism and in some parts of their lives had affinity for occultism. I have thus put Hauner's work both in the context of work of authors in whose work the conversion to Catholicism played a major role, and in the context of the artistic criteria of his time.
